Movie Night: American Fiction
Thursday, May 9, at 5:15 p.m.
Georgetown Village Square | 1801 35th St. NW
Join us for Movie Night as we watch American Fiction. The Academy Award-winning movie follows a frustrated novelist, fed up with the establishment profiting from "Black" entertainment that relies on tired and offensive tropes, who uses a pen name to write his own outlandish "Black" book and is suddenly swept up in the madness he claims to disdain. Based on the book Erasure by Percival Everett, American Fiction recently won the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay and has received a 96% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. You can check out the film trailer below.
Beverages and snacks will be served at 5:15 p.m. The movie will begin promptly at 5:30 p.m. RSVP by clicking "Register for this Event" on this page or by calling 202-999-8988.
